Hockey Jersey Proof Checklist: What to Check Before Approval

Before approving a hockey jersey proof, compare the latest mockup with your final team information. Check the artwork, every name and number, jersey types, sizes and quantities. Resolve open questions in writing, then approve the exact version you reviewed.

The group chat has finally agreed on a jersey. Enjoy that rare moment of peace, then give the proof a proper check. A thumbs-up on a phone screenshot is easy. Spotting a swapped digit takes a closer look.

Put the latest proof and team sheet side by side

Puck Drop Prints' ordering process includes a jersey proof and a Team Order Info spreadsheet. You approve the proof and team information before receiving an invoice. Keep both documents open during your review.

Use a clearly dated copy of each file. If someone changes a name or number, update the team sheet and tell your order contact which entry changed. An old attachment can look just as official as the current one.

This checklist starts after you have collected the roster. Still waiting for player details? Use the team jersey information guide first.

Check each view of the jersey

  • Confirm the main crest is the correct supplied artwork, including any small lettering.
  • Compare front, back and sleeve details wherever those views are provided. Ask about any placement you cannot see.
  • Check that the number outline stays readable against the background and striping.
  • Verify collar style, stripe layout and any requested shoulder or sponsor marks.
  • Review both sides if your order includes reversible jerseys.

If your team needs a new logo, create it in ChatGPT and supply the artwork with your order request. Review the output carefully and check that you have permission to use its elements. For sponsor marks, obtain the sponsor-approved original artwork before making changes or refining anything in ChatGPT.

A digital mockup helps you review layout. It does not establish an exact fabric-color match. If a particular color is essential, ask how to specify and confirm it before approval.

Read the roster one row at a time

Ask each player to confirm their own entry, then have one captain check the complete sheet. Pay attention to accents, spaces, hyphens and nickname spelling. Compare each number digit by digit.

Final proof-review checks
Item Compare against
Name and number The player's confirmed entry on the final team sheet
Size and cut The selected size and player or goalie designation
Quantity Every requested jersey, including spares and extra sets
Accessories The socks, shells or other items actually requested
Artwork version The final supplied logo and approved sponsor files

If the proof uses a sample name or number, confirm how individual player details will be taken from the spreadsheet. A sample back view does not confirm every personalized jersey.

Send one clear correction list

Choose one person to send consolidated feedback. Identify the proof version, the location of each issue and the exact correction. For example: β€œOn the back view, change the sample number from 18 to 81.”

When a revised proof arrives, check the corrections and scan the full document again. Save the final proof, final team sheet and approval correspondence together. Confirm the quote, delivery address and expected timing directly with your order contact before committing.

Proof approval FAQs

Does approving the artwork also confirm every player's size?

Review the team information separately. The artwork view and the player sheet answer different questions, so check both before approval.

What if I spot a mistake after approval?

Contact your order contact promptly with the exact issue. Ask what is still possible at the current stage. Do not assume a change can be made after approval or production has begun.

Should the whole team send feedback?

Players can check their own entries, but nominate one contact to consolidate corrections. That keeps conflicting requests out of the approval thread.

Keep the final version easy to find

Save one clearly labeled approval copy. For the next step in a new team order, review how ordering works and bring your supplied artwork and confirmed team information.
