Christmas Hockey Jerseys: Order-By Dates and Real Prices

By the Puck Drop Prints team. Updated October 2026.

Custom Christmas hockey jerseys start at $55 each with a six-jersey team order minimum, and the whole thing takes four to five weeks in production once your proof is approved. Add a week on the front for design and approval and the real answer is six weeks door to door. For a December 19 skate, that means ordering by November 7.

Every December the same thing happens. Somebody in the group chat posts a photo of another team in candy-cane sweaters, eleven guys reply with fire emojis, and then nothing happens until December 14, at which point it is mathematically impossible.

So here are the actual dates. Write them down.

When do you need to order Christmas hockey jerseys?

Order by November 7 for a Saturday, December 19 skate. That is six weeks out: four to five weeks of production once your proof is approved, plus about a week on the front end for design and sign-off. Tackle twill needs seven weeks, so its cutoff is October 31. Miss those and you are wearing last year's sweaters.

The clock does not start when you fill out the form. It starts when you approve the proof. That distinction is where most teams lose their week, because the proof sits in a captain's inbox while he waits for two guys to confirm they still want number 69.

Proof approval is the moment you tell us the design is final and production can begin. Everything before it is on your schedule. Everything after it is on ours.

Christmas 2026 order-by dates

You want them for Roller, Sublimated, Reversible Tackle Twill (Pro)
Sat Dec 12, early holiday party skate Oct 31 Oct 24
Sat Dec 19, last skate before Christmas Nov 7 Oct 31
Wed Dec 23, the night everyone is home Nov 11 Nov 4
Thu Dec 31, New Year's Eve game Nov 19 Nov 12

Based on 4 to 5 weeks production after proof approval (5 to 6 for tackle twill) plus one week for design and sign-off. We counted the longer figure on purpose.

If you are reading this in November and the date above has passed, skip to the last section. There is still a play.

What do Christmas hockey jerseys cost?

A Christmas jersey costs exactly the same as any other jersey: $55 for roller, $65 for sublimated, $99 for reversible or pro tackle twill. There is no holiday surcharge and no design fee. Names, numbers, logo design and worldwide shipping are all included with a team order. For a nine-player holiday crew, sublimated sweaters plus matching socks land at $765, or $85 per player for jersey and socks. Want the full holiday uniform? A Sublimated kit with jersey, socks and pant shell is $100 per player.

That jersey-and-socks figure is the number worth repeating to the group chat, because it is roughly one night out and it lasts five seasons.

A 9-player holiday skate crew, four ways

Jersey type Each 9 jerseys 9 jerseys + 9 pairs socks Jersey and socks, per player
Roller $55 $495 $675 $75
Sublimated $65 $585 $765 $85
Reversible $99 $891 $1,071 $119
Pro tackle twill $99 $891 $1,071 $119

Socks are $20 a pair with a team order. Names, numbers and logo design are included. Shipping is free, domestic and international.

Two things fall out of that table. The first is that every team order comes with a free swag store, so the holiday order gets you a storefront you did not have in October. The second is that the cheap jersey is not the light jersey and the light jersey is not the cheap one, if you care about that, the breakdown of sublimated versus tackle twill versus roller has the fabric weights next to the prices.

Pre-designed holiday jersey, or design your own?

Pick a pre-designed holiday jersey and you save zero dollars, a pre-designed sublimated jersey is $65, the same as a fully custom one. What you save is calendar. There is no first draft to wait for, no revision round, no proof sitting unopened in a group chat. In November, that is the only currency that matters.

A pre-designed jersey is a finished design you drop your team name, logo and numbers into. The art already exists, which is why the front end of the timeline collapses.

Going fully custom, a first draft typically lands within three to five business days, and there is usually a round or two of changes after that. Call it a week and a half if your team answers email, two if it does not. Going pre-designed, you are approving a proof almost immediately.

The green Christmas Sweater design. Pre-designed sublimated jerseys are $65, identical to a fully custom sublimated jersey, because logo and jersey design are free with a team order either way.

So the honest recommendation splits on the date. Before November 7, do whatever you want. After November 7, pick something off the shelf, the pre-designed jersey designs include red and green Christmas sweater patterns, an 80s retro look, and about a hundred others.

Nobody at the rink is going to ask whether you commissioned the artwork. They are going to ask where you got them.

Do you need the socks?

No, but the socks are the cheapest upgrade on the order at $20 a pair, and a holiday sweater with mismatched black socks looks like a costume that ran out of budget. Nine pairs adds $180 to the order, which is $20 per player. It is the difference between a team and nine guys wearing the same shirt.

Sock sizing does not follow jersey sizing. There are nine sock sizes against twenty-six jersey sizes, measured on different parts of the body, so a guy who wears a jersey L does not automatically wear a sock L. Collect sock sizes as their own column when you send the roster around, the guide to collecting sizes, names and numbers has a template that will save you nine follow-up texts.

Matching socks are $20 a pair with a team order. Nine sizes, and none of them can be guessed from a jersey size.

Is a Christmas jersey worth it for one night?

It is not one night. Holiday sweaters get worn to the December skate, the New Year's game, the team party, and then every January and February for the next four seasons, because nobody in beer league has ever retired a jersey for being seasonally inappropriate. At $85 per player for a sublimated jersey and socks, the cost per wearing is small enough that arguing about it costs more in time than money.

The other reason teams do it: a holiday order is the easiest sell a captain ever makes. No one argues about a Christmas sweater in November. Try getting nine guys to agree on a permanent crest in March.

If the order is coming out of a company budget rather than a group chat, the same logic applies with a bigger number attached, there is a separate list of corporate gift ideas built around custom jerseys for exactly that conversation.

The December skate is the best-attended game of the year. Six weeks of lead time is what separates a themed room from a group photo of guys in whatever they had.

What if you already missed the window?

Then stop aiming at Christmas and aim at January. Order in late November or December and you land jerseys for the outdoor game, the January tournament, or the back half of the season, and you order into the quietest production window of the year instead of the busiest. The sweaters are just as good in January. The deadline was the only thing that was fake.

What does not work is trying to compress the timeline. Production is four to five weeks after proof approval and there is no version of that which becomes ten days because you asked nicely. If you want the full breakdown of where every week goes, the timeline for custom hockey jerseys walks through it stage by stage.

One thing you can do late: if your order has not gone into production yet, you can still add to it. Two guys who decided in week three are free. Two guys who decide after production starts pay the reorder rate of $85 apiece.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do custom Christmas hockey jerseys cost?

Custom Christmas hockey jerseys cost $55 each for roller, $65 for sublimated, and $99 for reversible or pro tackle twill, with a six-jersey team order minimum. There is no holiday surcharge. Names, numbers, logo design and worldwide shipping are included. Nine sublimated jerseys with matching socks total $765, or $85 per player for jersey and socks. A full Sublimated kit with pant shell is $100 per player.

When is the last day to order Christmas hockey jerseys?

For a Saturday, December 19, 2026 skate, order by November 7 for roller, sublimated or reversible jerseys, and by October 31 for pro tackle twill. Those dates allow four to five weeks of production after proof approval, plus about one week for design and sign-off. For a New Year's Eve game, the cutoff moves to November 19.

Are pre-designed Christmas hockey jerseys cheaper than custom ones?

No. A pre-designed sublimated jersey is $65, the same price as a fully custom sublimated jersey, because logo and jersey design are free with every team order at Puck Drop Prints. Choosing a pre-designed holiday jersey saves time rather than money by removing the design drafts and revision rounds from the front of the timeline.

What is the minimum order for Christmas hockey jerseys?

The team order minimum is six jerseys. Puck Drop Prints does not sell one-off custom jerseys, though a single jersey can be reordered later once a team order has been placed. Every team order also comes with a free swag store carrying merchandise branded with that team's logo.

Can players be added to a Christmas jersey order after it is placed?

Yes, as long as the order has not been sent into production. Players added before production begins are billed at the standard jersey price. Players added after production starts become a reorder, priced at $85 per piece for one or two pieces, which is why late additions cost more than early ones.

Do matching Christmas hockey socks cost extra?

Matching custom socks are $20 per pair with a team order. Nine pairs add $180 to an order. Socks come in nine sizes measured independently of jersey sizing, so sock sizes must be collected separately from each player rather than inferred from a jersey size.
